Projoba SPA Product Line Ingredient Glossary |
Jojoba Oil – A pure and natural moisturizer and emollient with the ability to heal the skin. It has rapid penetration and excellent coverage. Jojoba Oil has one of the longest shelf lives of all oils. When it was determined in the 1930’s to be identical in structure to whale oil, (with the exception of the fishy odor and cruelty to animals), Jojoba oil became a complete replacement for whale oil in both cosmetics as well as skin and hair care. As opposed to other oils having only a 2-3% ability to increase skin elasticity, Jojoba Oil has an incredible 50%! The more Jojoba based products you include in your daily regime, the more protection you will receive against the effects of aging, loss of skin and hair elasticity and wrinkles. Jojoba MicroBeads - Extracted from the jojoba plant, these moisturizing beads closely resemble the skin’s natural waxes and oils. An exceptional skin polisher, these small, round microspheres gently exfoliate, smooth and refine surface texture while helping prevent moisture loss – hydrating delicate new skin. Shea Butter – Adds suppleness to the skin, protecting it from dehydration with its deep penetrating, softening and moisturizing properties. Used in skin care and hair care due to its terrific emollient qualities. Avocado Oil – Conditions and smoothes fine lines. Acts as excellent emollient and carrier oil in skin and hair care products, as well as cosmetics. It also has natural sunscreen properties. Silk Amino Acids – It’s smoothing and conditioning properties provide improved manageability, shine and body to hair. In skin care products, this protein has a protective colloid effect, which helps plump up the skin. This increase in ability to retain moisture gives the skin a smoother, less wrinkled look. Sunflower Seed Oil – Used for its emollient and smoothing properties, this oil nourishes and restores suppleness to the skin. Coconut Oil - Replaces Sodium Laurel Sulfate and Sodium Laureth Sulfate as a great binder of ingredients and natural preservative. It is stable when exposed to air, and non-comedogenic. Green Tea Extract - A potent antioxidant, this extract is soothing to the skin. It is excellent for reducing eye puffiness, as well as protecting the skin and hair from the aging effects of free radicals in the environment. Aloe Vera - An emollient with incredible hydrating, softening, and anti-inflammatory properties for both hair and skin. It soothes stressed skin and hair, calms eye puffiness and helps heal the damage done from both sun and environmental exposure.
